There it was right in front of me – a Bigfoot track in the mud! Several of them in fact, right there in the mud on the bank of the Rock River in Lowell Park, Dixon, Illinois. Huge tracks – seventeen inches long and clear as day. I could barely contain my excitement. This creature must be huge!
It was July of 1976 and I had been interested in Bigfoot for a while. I had been telling a couple of my friends about Bigfoot. One day, when I began talking about it again, they told me that they had seen Bigfoot tracks by the river. “Just go and look in the mud along the river bank. You’ll see them,” they told me. After learning from them exactly where they had seen them, I went searching for evidence of Bigfoot. I looked where they told me, and sure enough, there were the tracks.
I showed them to my mother, who was a newspaper reporter. She wrote up a story that was published in the Rockford Morning Star. This story is still reported on the BFRO website as a Bigfoot encounter. Later when I was excitedly telling my two friends about what I’d found they began laughing. Then they admitted their practical joke: They had hoaxed me and created the tracks using wooden forms made to look like giant feet. They got me good!
Although those footprints were fake, there appears to be strange things out there that people are actually seeing. According to the BFRO there have been over 5,000 reported sightings of bigfoot since 2004. And Bigfoot isn’t the only strange thing being seen. The History Channel reports that UFO sightings have increased 67 percent in the past three years. And who doesn’t know someone who has seen a ghost? Turn on Discovery Channel or the History Channel and most any evening you can watch programs of people hunting for Bigfoot, UFOs and Ghosts. Interest in the unexplained is at an all-time high.
What do these three mysteries have to do with each other and what exactly are they? Although sightings of these spectacles are, in most cases, real events, the fact of the matter is that these three phenomena are related and they are not what they would seem to be. The ideas advanced on television about them are not the truth. Bigfoot is not an undiscovered species of animal. Ghosts are not the spirits of dead people wandering the earth, and UFOs are not spacecraft from another planet.
These apparitions are all paranormal activities that are run by the same organization: Satan and his demons. Jesus said of Satan, “When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44) Satan’s purpose with these paranormal apparitions is two-fold: To deceive and engender fear. Let’s take a look at these matters and see exactly what dishonest trickery Satan is up to and how we know he is behind it all.
Let’s begin with ghosts. Scripture tells us, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” In the account that Jesus gives of the rich man and Lazarus, (Luke 16:19-31) we find that the rich man immediately goes to Hell while Lazarus goes straightaway to paradise. Nowhere in scripture do we find any idea that the spirits of men wander the earth after death. The saved go to heaven and the wicked go to Hell.
Satan wants to deny this reality and the apparition of ghosts that appear to be the spirits of dead people is one of the ways he does this. Where are ghosts found? They are found where some horrible evil has taken place, a murder or suicide or tragic death. Demons, no doubt, were originally involved in whatever wicked and tragic event occurred and they want to keep the evil trauma alive by re-enacting the scene and creating a haunted house effect around it. Demons like evil scenes like pigs love mud. They revel in it.
The idea of an afterlife where we will wander about our old haunts as spirits is a fiction invented by Satan. He would like us to think it is so, but it is a lie. Demons can be very intelligent. They have been around since time immemorable and they know their history. They very cleverly masquerade as historical figures, engendering interest, disseminating deception and inspiring fear.
By carefully cultivating curiosity these demons grow people’s interest into an obsession, seducing them into doing “investigations” and seances to contact the dead, which is something that is strictly forbidden in the Bible:
“Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. (Leviticus 19:31)
“Let no one be found among you who…is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. (Deuteronomy 18:10-11)
Once people begin dabbling into paranormal activity a door is opened by which evil spirits can engender fear and gain a foothold of oppression and possibly even demonic possession.
Unidentified Flying Objects
UFOs cannot be from another planet for a plethora of reasons. Google “impossibility of interstellar flight” and you can read all the scientific reasons why it will never happen. I will concentrate here on the theological reasons why there cannot be extraterrestrial life.
Scripture is abundantly clear about the state of our universe. It is running down and wearing out. The 2nd law of thermodynamics is clearly seen everywhere in the universe. Things are rusting, decaying, and dying. The reason for this is given in scripture. The sin of Adam brought a change into our entire universe:
“Cursed is the ground because of you…It will produce thorns and thistles for you…” (Genesis 3:17-18)
“When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone…” (Romans 5:12)
“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay…we know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” (Romans 8:21-22)
So we see, all of the universe was impacted by the sin of man on earth. If there were beings living on other planets, how unfair it would be to them for their world and universe to be corrupted because of the sin of mankind light-years away. Furthermore, God didn’t create other solar systems for the purpose of putting aliens on other planets. On the contrary, the Bible says that God created the stars for the benefit of people on earth:
He made the stars also. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth…” (Genesis 1:16-17)
What are UFOs if they are not visitors from other planets? The Bible says that Satan is “the prince of the power of the air.” (Ephesians 2:2). The “air” refers to the invisible realm above the earth where Satan and his demons move and exist. In Ephesians 6:12, Paul writes, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
UFOs are inter-dimensional beings that can move in and out of our reality. They can appear solid and show up on radar and cause power disruption. They can disappear into another unseen realm in an instant. They are not flesh and blood creatures from another world. They are demons pretending to be extraterrestrial space craft. That’s how they can perform maneuvers that appear to defy the laws of physics.
Why would they create this deception? Have you ever met someone who will tell a lie when the truth would work just as well? That’s how Satan and his hordes of demons are. They love deceiving people. But there is also a master plan.
Satan wants to detract man’s attention from God. Our Lord wants us to turn to Him for answers and realize we are not alone because God is with us. Satan doesn’t want us to think about God at all. He wants us to comfort ourselves with the idea that we are not alone because aliens from outer space are going to help us solve all of our problems. And once we turn to these aliens and believe in them, then they can get us to receive their spiritual messages which they can implant in the minds of those who are consumed with contacting them. That is their plan. But they aren’t aliens. They are demons who want to influence the thoughts and actions of man for their own evil purposes.
The ultimate goal of these “UFO demons” may be to make contact with world leaders and begin to influence world opinions and attitudes. C.S. Lewis in his end-time book That Hideous Strength imagines a scenario just like that. When the Antichrist appears, he may have an intricate lie prepared about space aliens. What is happening today may merely be the groundwork for a much more elaborate lie.
The evolutionary theory that mankind evolved from a monkey’s uncle is a lie of Satan, one that has a gaping hole in its logic: The fact of the irreducible complexity of nature and the information encoded in DNA reveals the glaring deficiency in the theory of evolution – There must be an author for information to exist and the reality of complex mechanisms requires a creator.
To compensate for this deficiency, the theory is advanced that alien space beings planted the seeds of life on earth and that’s where the complex information came from. This is nothing but a doctrine of demons who want to bolster evolutionary theory in order to promote atheism.
Many researchers have noted a connection between UFOs and ghost hauntings. In both cases many of those who witness such phenomenon are people that have previously been involved in occult activity. In both cases you have people that undergo fearful experiences and sometimes become possessed. The increasing occurrence of “alien abductions” are probably cases of demonic possession. There is such a similarity that it has been noted that whoever runs haunted houses is also in the UFO business.
Bigfoot, rather than being an unknown reclusive animal, is actually a paranormal inter-dimensional creature. That is why the remains or fossils of one has never been found, and never will be. That is also why footprint tracks of a Bigfoot (real tracks that is) sometimes simply disappear, as though the creature suddenly dematerialized. Orbs of light are known to be associated with sightings of Bigfoot, just as they are with UFO sightings.
There are a number of reports where people have shot a bigfoot with rifles to no avail. One lady fired a shotgun point-blank into the chest of one. It disappeared right in front of her in a blinding flash of light. This is not the behavior of an animal, but of a spiritual entity.
Those who hunt Bigfoot sit out in the dark forest and attempt to attract his attention by various means. They don’t realize that such a practice is very close to what mediums do when attempting to contact spirits. Bigfoot researchers report the propensity Bigfoot has for answering with wood knocking and rock throwing. This is the exact same phenomenon seen at seances and haunted houses. Demon spirits make knocking sounds and levitate or throw objects about.
Scripture gives us a clue as to why Bigfoot may prefer wild and desolate regions.
“He was met by a man from the city who was possessed with demons; and who had not put on any clothing for a long time, and was not living in a house, but in the tombs….For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and yet he would break his bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.” (Luke 8:27,29)
According to scripture and rabbinical literature demons and evil spirits tend to inhabit wild or desolate places. The Jews had a word, Se’irim which means “hairy demon” Apparently Bigfoot has been around since ancient times. The fact that Bigfoot lives in remote wild regions suggests his demonic nature.
The behavior of Bigfoot reveals his true nature. He instills fear. He has a horrible odor, something that is often associated with the presence of an evil spirit. Bigfoot has an unholy interest in women and children. He is attracted to the sound of children playing and has been reported to attempt to lure young children away. There are stories of Bigfoot abducting women and children. Many of the disappearances of people in our national parks are attributed, by some, to Bigfoot. There are some accounts of women being raped by these creatures. The unclean interest that Bigfoot is reported to have in women harks back to the account in Genesis where demons desired sex with women:
“It was at this time that beings from the spirit world looked upon the beautiful earth women and took any they desired to be their wives…In those days, and even afterwards, when the evil beings from the spirit world were sexually involved with human women, their children became giants, of whom so many legends are told.” (Genesis 6:1-4 LB)
The children of these unions were called the Nephilim. These Nephilim were reported to not only be extremely tall (like Bigfoot) but also to be evil and perverted. They were warlike, uncontrollable, wild, and according to Jewish apocryphal writings, had a propensity for sex with animals. What relationship the Nephilim are to Bigfoot is unclear. They may be somehow related. There is, however, a definite link in behavior which alludes to the demonic characteristics of Bigfoot.
Angels, as well as fallen angels, (demons) are inter-dimensional entities. That is to say, they can appear solid, eat food and appear completely human, or have some other solid physical effect, yet still be of a spiritual ethereal nature. Remember the scripture that says, “show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:2) Also recall the two angels who visited Lot. The homosexual townspeople wanted to rape the angels. They had no clue they were angels. Angels, whether good ones or fallen ones, can take on physical form. The point is that even though Bigfoot appears to be a solid animal, that does not belie the fact that he can also be a demonic spiritual being.
What is Satan’s purpose with Bigfoot? Fear and terror for one, beyond that, I’m not sure. Those who get deeply involved with Bigfoot research may become susceptible to demonic influence just as ghost and UFO researchers are. Anytime you allow yourself to go along with Satan’s deception you are opening a door you don’t want to have open.
Christians and the Paranormal
Christians do not need to fear Bigfoot, ghosts, or UFOs. The Bible says if we resist the devil he will flee from us and that “greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) If I were confronted with any paranormal apparition or monster, I would simply command it to depart in the name of Jesus. I have no doubt it would have to obey. Jesus has filled us with his Holy Spirit and given us power over demons and over all the power of the enemy. Christians are surrounded by angels. Demons, whether in the form of Bigfoot, a ghost or a UFO, will normally not manifest near a Christian. They are limited by the power of God. They know to be afraid of Jesus and don’t want to incur punishment before the time.
If you are a Christian, fear not. If you aren’t a Christian. Be afraid. If you dabble in these things, be very afraid. But Christians need have no fear. However, Christians should still exercise cautious wisdom. A Christian should never involve themselves in seances or attempts to make contact with the dead, or with aliens, ghosts and Bigfoot creatures. These phenomena are all tricks of Satan. To get involved with such opens a spiritual door that invites the enemy in.
As a young man, I got fooled by a couple of my friends. There little deception was a good natured joke. But the deception Satan is fostering with paranormal activity is no joke. The lies being propagated are sinister and counter to the Word of God.
The whole world is being fooled by ghosts, UFOs and Bigfoot. They are part of the end-time deception. We can expect more paranormal activity as the time draws nigh. Those who are grounded in God’s word are not fooled and we have no need to fear, for as the scripture says in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
